WG Wireless Curtain PIR
Product Information
These Unique Wireless Curtain PIR's are designed to work in conjunction with our WG GSM Wireless Alarm System, they have a 10 metre range, 100 degrees vertical & 10 degress horizontal detection pattern and a wireless range back to the receiver of 80 metres (line of sight). Designed to cover narrow locations perhaps accross bay windows, especially usefull when trying to aviod animals. You can learn the PIR's to 99 available zones working in a selection of different ways to suit most applications. Kit Includes: 1 x PIR. 1 x Bracket. 2 x AA Batteries. Size: 120 (H) x 65 (W) x 40 (D) mm (without bracket). 65 mm deep with bracket. Detection Range: 10 metres Distance. 110 Degrees Vertical. 10 Degrees Horizontal. Power Suppy: 2 x AA Batteries. Battery Life: Approximately 6 - 12 months (normal use). Mounting the PIR Sensor: The key to successful operation of any PIR sensor is choosing the correct location. A sensor mounted in a unsuitable location has the potential to cause false triggers and reduce performance. The main rules that should be followed are: 1) Mount the PIR into a corner of a room. 2) Avoid heat spots from bright lamps suddenly turning on or off. 3) Do not install immediately above a radiator. 4) Do not install in a glass roof conservatory. How PIR's Work (passive infrared detector): All PIR sensors detect changes in infra-red radiation, in the form of heat emitted by a number of bodies including people, cars and to a lesser extent, dogs or other small animals. The bigger the body, the more infra-red radiation isemitted and the easier it is for a PIR sensor to detect. The field of view is the area in which changes in infra-red radiation can be detected. The field of view can alter with changes in temperature and the size of the heat source. The construction of the PIR and Fresnel Lens divide the field of view into a number of zones both vertically and horizontally. Multi Element Fresnel Lens: The lens focuses the infr-red radiation given out by a hear source on to the Pyroelectric sensor. The different elements or facets of the lens divide the incoming infra-red radiation into vertical and horizontal zones. Pyroelectric Passive Infra-Red Sensor: The dual element Pyroelectric sensor receives the incoming infra-red radiation from various zones. The two elements of the sensor receive varying amounts of infra-red radiation and this difference is amplified, turning into a signal via the IC. This signal activates the microcontroller. The sensor detects infra-red radiation in the wave length from 8 - 14 metres. Intergrated Circuit Control Chip (IC): This is a customised chip which controls the various modes of operation, timing functions and the processing of the signal from the sensor to drive wireless alarm signals to alarm panel.
